Fusing the most cutting-edge piece of musical technology, the Reactable Live with the ancient sounds of the didgeridoo, Bastinado's unique musical sound is quickly winning them fans from all over the world. Founded by Joseph B. Carringer and Josh Harris, Bastinado's live shows are arranged 'on the fly', and continuously mixed like a DJ set.
The duo describes their music as inspired by the EDM that they grew up listening to, but with a modern twist. They are fans of musical greats such as The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, and The Prodgy to Paul van Dky, Sasha and Digweed, BT and Orbital. While they view themselves as a band, they are absolutely influenced by the full spectrum of electronic music culture. Mixing guitars and edgy synths with the didgeridoo creates an energy that is on par with a live rock band.
With their first single, 'Falling Down' coming out this spring, and an an EP to follow this summer, Bastinado's musical star is very bright. Featured vocalists include Dhana (Taxidoll) and Australia's own Lee Safar.
